Scottish Art Student Depicts 9/11

EDINBURGH, Scotland - A soft sculpture of Mickey Mouse flying an airplane toward flaming, crying World Trade Center towers has caused a stir at a college art exhibit.
Alan Bennie, a student of the Edinburgh College of Art, titled his work about the Sept. 11 terror attacks "Mickey's Taliban Adventures."

Can I have £50 to mend the shed.
Can I have Fifty pounds to mend the shed?
I'm right on my Uppers.
I can pay you back
When I get this postal order from Australia
Honestly.
Hope the bladder trouble's getting better.
Love, Ewen?
I like it.

I think it is a great commentary on how much the attacks have become part of American culture and that people now cite and hear "nine-eleven" without even thinking of how horrendous that day actually was.

Using the attacks as a reason for the invasion of Iraq makes more of a mockery of the attacks than this piece of art does.
