Indie Rock Show Review Buzzword Bingo (TM)

Following up on my comment in the Vampire Weekend thread which was based on the scenario of people getting randomly assigned squares containing oft repeated comment about show… sort of like a Super Bowl score grid wagering pool…

This idea could work but would be tough to administer… So instead strictly for the sake of amusement, as trying to wager on this because it would be to easily rigged, would be turn this into a Buzzword Bingo style game. Where 24 or more oft heard phrases are used to randomly generate bingo cards which people would then check off every time that phrase appears here and possibly other local blogs, etc. The free square will of course have to be "Nobody Was Dancing"

So I'm looking for suggestions comments that often pop up in show reviews. And the inaugural show for the game could either be Wilco or Justice.

As far as actually playing, I think it's only fair that people going to show can get a card they just can't post a review :)

In order to get the white board going I suggest

"The Sound Was Lousy"
"Latecomers tried to shove their way past me"

"They weren't as good as the last time they came to town and played at (insert smaller venue here)."

EDIT: I should probably read the whole post first … Ha.

Obviously something pertaining to how "Tickets.com screwed me out of tickets" or "no real fans get into the show because scalpers ate up all of the tickets."

"The crowd sucked"

"Too many frat guys / sorority girls" or better yet "Too many Turbos"

For Wilco: Any reference to not liking songs off Ghost is Born or Sky Blue Sky

For Justice: Any reference to Daft Punk

How come nobody in DC dances at shows?

They started later than the website stated.

The show sounded good, but I couldn't see past the tall dude in front.

I liked them better when they were [similar band that's better known or classic].

I hope there's a download of the show.

The [unusual instrument] was cool.

I wished they would have shut up about politics and just played.

"i like (member X)'s solo stuff way better" (when reviewing the band)/"i like (member X) way better when he plays with the full band" (when reviewing the solo show).

one that i see becoming more common: commenting about the environmental impact of the show ("this show wasn't worth its carbon footprint").
