Danielson Roll Call

Anyone else going to see Danielson at the State Theatre tomorrow night?
I'm opting for Cold War Kids/Sound Team/Midlake at Black Cat Backstage instead.
Are CWK headlining>?
not even

Sound Team is headlining.
Danielson it is, then.

I'm assuming that it hasn't/won't sell out, sine I haven't picked up tickets yet.

Anyone have an idea as to when they'll go on?
The State Theatre web site says doors at 7, show at 8:30. One opener listed. I haven't bought my ticket yet either. I'll be very surprised if it's a big crowd.
I admit to having never heard of Danielson before this thread, but Kurosawa-b/w is always way ahead of the musical curve compared to me, so no surprise there. Anyway, I thought I'd check out the Danielson web site for MP3s.

I didn't particularly care for "Did I Step on Your Trumpet?", but I loved "Daughters Will Tune You" and enjoyed "Things Against Stuff".
Great show last night…I was really impressed with them.

Too bad there were only about 75 people there.

Really? I think that's one of the best songs on Ships.

I'm thinking about going to the Ottobar show tonight.

Yep. Just re-listened to it and still didn't particularly care for it. I like parts of it, specifically the middle-to-end part that sounds kind of like The Arcade Fire, but I dislike the quasi-pseudo-rapping and the background vocals in the first half of the song and the "Oh nooooo" at the beginning is just annoying. Really, I dislike most of the first half of that song. Maybe it's an acquired taste or something that will grow on me. Certainly, I like those other songs I mentioned very much. Just giving my first impressions.
I loved the show. There's just something special about that band. They create a huge sound and his voice is so wonderfully weird and shrieky. The banter with the crowd was pretty funny as well. It was a small crowd but everyone was really into it. I wish I could drive up to Baltimore to see them again tonight.
I bet the Ottobar will have a much better crowd…and the Page France opener makes it a really solid combo for $10 on a Tuesday night.
Any reports from the Ottobar?
