What are your favorite non-ipods?

My Creative Nomad Zen Xtra nearly had a hard disk crash. The problem was mechanical and I found a fix on-line involving hitting the side of the machine while you reset it. It worked and I didn't have to go shopping for a new non-ipod device.

Since it has been several years since I purchased, what are your favorite devices that are NOT iPods?
The Rio Carbon is excellent, but no longer in production. You can get a refurb at amazon very cheaply. It is tiny, and self-databases, so you can just drag music on and it will build the id3 tags itself, no need for any software anywhere. Wish more players had this option.

The direction of most players these days is 1) tiniest possible and 2) video; I don't need either, I keep waiting for good high-capacity ipod competitors that aren't proprietary but nothing yet.
If it had flac support the ipod would be the perfect player for me….

That said I'm on my 2nd one in 5 years.

I'll post this again for those interested that have iPods and don't want to utilize only MP3/WAV/AAC formats :)

Anyone have the Creative Vision M, their 30g model? Thoughts on the device? I have been very happy with Creative but the new model doesn't have a replaceable lithium ion and me no like that.
I've heard the toshiba gigabeat M (zune was based on this) and the sansa thing are good. Depends how much you want video on it and how big. I have an old ipod.
I had a dell jukebox that I got in 2003 that I was happy with till it caught on fire. My wife got me an i-river last year for Christmas. Its adequate but I'm sure I'll be upgrading in a year or so when it dies.
