I drove from downtown DC to Chevy Chase yesterday. There was light-to-moderate flow.

On Christmas Eve, Smackette and I took a nice drive down the coast to get from SF to The OC - Big Blue always puts me in a good place. Little rain, little traffic, about 8 hours total.
We spent Xmas in Anaheim, then drove to Laguna where I took this picture from the bar where I was buying a drink for
Julie Cooper-Nichol-Cooper, who, as it turns out, lives down the street. She's pretty hot for almost 40, and her voice is super sexy.

Yesterday, we drove back to SF without hassle…

spent Dec 23 not flying from ottawa to seattle, a non-process that took almost 5 hours. had to spend another night with the sister. spent Dec 24 getting as far as vancouver, at which point we took a bus to seattle. the west coast got the most snow they've ever seen. hilarity on the streets ensued. got out fine yesterday.

I took my bike to work today because it was warmish. Traffic remained light and the lights seemed unusually optimal, shaving a couple of minutes off my trip.

After rushing around all Christmas Eve in crazy traffic and loads of rude people, while I suffered with a mean backache working it's way up to a nasty headache while trying to get everything done by Christmas day, I ended up waking up to some kind of intestinal blerg humbug that's going around. Completely destroyed my whole Christmas and I ended up spending the entire day and night sick in bed (or on the sofa).
Happy to say that all trips along the hallway between the sofa and the bathroom were met without incident.
