Hipsters go to Ben's late night.  Interesting call going there sober.  What's ignored in the story is that he's been a Senator for 4 years.  Why is this his first trip to Ben's??

to his credit, he walked into ben's unsure of what to order, listened to advisors in line (including Fenty), and settled on the correct answer - chili half smoke.  that shows a good willingness to listen to experts and then make good decisions.  some will argue he should have ordered cheese fries as well, but you can't blame him for taking a prudent, moderate approach - especially considering the time of day.

some will have read exactly that in the article…

He and Fenty ordered a house specialty, a Chili Half-Smoke ? a quarter-pound half pork and beef smoked sausage on a steamed bun with mustard, onions and chili sauce ? along with a big helping of some cheese fries.

more importantly, obama pushed on Georgetown v. Maryland basketball (3:07 on the youtube clip) … Obama's brother-in-law (oregon state coach Craig Robinson) and gtown's coach (JTIII) are both part of the tight-knit princeton hoops alum community and are close, so i'd expect Obama to be pretty strongly in the Georgetown camp
