$9 guinness?! :o
Hey Seth!
god damn
i was going to get all up in arms about someone starting another "hey seth" thread… but $9 guinness is reason enough for such a breach of protocol.
$9?!?!? seriously?!?!?
someone please confirm before i start ranting. i'm not saying any day is a good one for this kinda news, but march 17th is probably the worse one of all.

go for the music . . . or drink something else besides that shite.
Last time I was there I paid $16 for a double Stoli and Cranberry. When did Stoli become Jean Marc XO? I'm just going to DC9 or Duffy's and drinking before I go to any show at 9:30 because the prices having gotten ridiculous and completely incommensurate with any other place I go to see a show. You're a music venue, not Russia House.
At least a Miller Lite costs $6.
Oh…wait… :-\

yeah PBR 6 bucks, can't beat that.
The 3.50 draft PBR or the 4.00 Red Room Ale both at the black cat continue to be the best deals around IMHO.
they were handing out beer at comet ping pong last Friday night at the Homosexuals show…
too bad someone here was too much of a chicken to try it…

Just to clarify, a Guinness draft is $7.00. However the Pub Can, which is 14.9 oz. as compared to our 12 oz. tap draft does run $9.00. We have Guinness on tap at the Backbar and VIP bar, but not on the main floor. If you want a Guinness from either of the main floor bars you'll have to get it in the Pub Can.

Stoli is $8.00 and if you order a double you get a true double and therefor pay for two shots.
More of a general question…is a price list available anywhere? Is it just a policy of bars and clubs in general to try to keep prices of alcohol on a need-to-know basis? Just curious.
I don't really drink at shows and therefore it's not much of an issue for me, but it just seems like a funny quirk of the club/bar/restaurant business - you often see posted prices for food but not drinks…for example take the 930 menu - why not post prices for beer?

ah, thanks for confirming that. although slightly above average, those prices aren't horrible. i was afraid that pints were $9…. a tempest in a solo cup.
I've always wondered the same thing.
My general thought was that people would buy less or choose something less expensive if they knew the price in advance. If they don't, their more likely to just choose what they want, then potentially suffer the consequences.
That's just the opinion of Mr. Thrifty here.

Pints probably are around $9, since a 12 oz cup is only 75% of a pint.
