So, I don't watch this show. But this popped up in Google Reader, and "Mad World" is an amazing song, so I watched it.
Gotta say: this kid can really sing. Maybe a couple of small pitch issues in there, but overall - pretty impressive rendition. From what I've read, I guess he's the far and away frontrunner this year, which is rather refreshing:
Clip is toward the bottom, song starts at about :40 in to the video.

I posted in the Smackie thread last night that Adam is by far the best contestant they've ever had. Other than his Jeff Buckley version of Ring of Fire, everything he's done has impressed me. Check out his "Tracks of my Tears" too.

Yeah he's kind of creepy, but the kid really can sing. I'm sure whatever album he makes will be tastless and awful though. Tracks of my tears was really good.

I just discovered
www.idletard.com and it's brilliant. It reminds me a bit of the dirty.com but with ugly idol stalkers.

He's much better now that he's starting to control that annoying falsetto. For the first few weeks every song eventually descended into a noise that sounded like someone stepped on a cat.

Not really. You intended to mock. He intended to praise.

Some people might call comparisons to Antony mocking. Most would call it praise.

the control this show has over people is almost as brilliant as the price is right.

My intention was to neither praise nor to mock. It was simply to draw a comparison between Adam and Antony as a starting point for discussion.

I didnt yet have a chance to see last night's show, but if Kris Allen gets booted tonight, Ill be sad. hes clearly the underdog and its a shame those judges always seem to heap the praises onto Danny and Lil (whatever her name is).

Chris is in danger this week. His song choice was poor and his execution even worse (I'm refraining from details because you haven't seen it yet). I don't think he loses to the blind guy this week though - his song was PAINFUL. Lil Rounds was also pretty bad. I think Chris scoots through this week, but he's out of his league when it comes to Adam and, arguably Danny (who I've grown bored of).

oohhh no. im kinda cringing thinking about how bad it can be - but the blind kid has got to go. im so tired of him and sadly danny who i used to really like. they pimped him out a bit too much along with lil rounds who i find forgettable. im hoping kris will make another round because for the past few weeks he was doing awesome!
btw - smackie - do you want DWTS? sadly im sucked into all this stuff and had to miss last night. i figured a date with a british guy would be so much better than all the above shows and that proved right - minus the hellish hangover i have :(

I agree that Adam is probably one of the most talented people that has ever been on the show. The question is - will middle America continue to vote for him as more details of his personal life trickle out?

No, stars have no place in Smackie's reality dance shows. That's why I watch "So You Think You Can Dance" starring the always lovely Cat Deely. Far better dancing.
