Limited Music Festival Listing

Limited because there were lots of glaring ommissions, along with a lot of not so well known. Okay, so they qualify it with 'best' but that's debatable.
Feel free to add your own.
(Lifted from today's CNN)
A guide to the world's best music festivalsSome of the MIAs:
VFest (UK, Baltimore and Toronto)
Benicàssim (Spain) (which I've always thought to be one of the better offerings)
La Route de Roc (France)
Terrastock (US)
Airwaves (or whatever that one is Iceland is called)
Witness Festival (Ireland)
Austin City Limits
APW (NY & UK)
(Can't for the life of me remember the name of a very good festival full of Gaze in Bandung, Indonesia)
Reading
Baris Festival (Istanbul, Turkey)
SXSW
CMJ
Voodoo Music Festival
Love Parade (Germany)
I know there's tons more. Help me out.

If memory serves, they're taking this year off. To be sure, check here periodically:

no jazz fests, at all? (NOrleans, montreux, montreal, etc)
werchter (belgium) always has a RIDICULOUS line-up.
if i could attend any one festival this year, it would be Sonica in italy (recently re-branded as "Re-Loaded",
http://www.re-loaded.org/en/). and the line-up for the 10 year anniversary of Solipse, now called Ozora Festival (
http://www.ozorafest.hu/) since no eclipses are involved, looks insane. yes, it's all electronic - trance and chillout/downtempo. no, i don't expect many here to have heard of these before.

Electric Picnic KILLS, every year.
T in the Park has jawdropping lineups.
The Connect Festival should win on location/dates alone, but they're taking a break this year.

The Green Man Festival (Brecon Beacons, Wales) looks pretty nice this year
http://www.thegreenmanfestival.co.uk/Also, Monolith is always another excuse to go to Red Rocks.

I thought about putting Monolith, but they said best in the world, and well…Monolith isn't in that class yet. Same with Treasure Island Music Festival, which is probably my favorite outdoor US festival that I've been to, but not on the level (artist-wise) to elevate it to world-class.

someone just sent me the full schedule for the primavera festival (
http://www.primaverasound.com/) - azag, get ready to poop your pants:
19:00 Magik Markers
20:45 Wooden Shjips
22:30 The Jesus Lizard
00:15 Dead Meadow
and on another stage:
23:20 Phoenix
01:35 Aphex Twin
03:50 Squarepusher
… while on yet another stage,
00:20 My Bloody Valentine!!!!!!!!!!!
and that's just the first day.
day two has Art Brut, Spiritualized, Saint Etienne, Sunn O))) performing "The Grimmrobe Demos", Shellac, My Bloody Valentine (again!), The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart, Fucked Up…
day three highlights: Neil Young, Sonic Youth, Deerhunter, Simian Mobile Disco, Oneida…

i don't even know how i'd navigate that clusterf*ck. here's an attempt:
19:00 - end Magik Markers
20:45 - end Wooden Shjips
23:20 - 23:40 Phoenix
23:45 - 00:30 Jesus Lizard
0:35 - 1:30 MBV
1:35 - end Aphex Twin
3:50 - end Squarepusher
but that would suck, as i'd be a mile away for each set, and i'd definitely want to be up front for JL. wow. this might be the worse lineup conflict i've ever seen.

Seth, let's make it easy for you. Just duplicate this festival for the Baltimore VFest and all will be right with the world again. PLEASE, SETH.
Pimlico, MPP or elsewhere in the area; you book it, we will come. I don't even like festivals but I'd brave the crowds for such a stellar line-up.
Just think how jealous all those poor festival challanged Canadians would be of us. You will be the new Virgin hero.
