Black Cat will switch to Ticket Alternative!

Thanks for that. Explains why I couldn't find Charlatans ticket on TM.
I can see this happening with many more venues if the TM/LN merger goes through. Perhaps Merriweather will switch to Tickets.com?
Tickets.com's service charges are every bit as high as Ticketmaster, especially at the $20-25 ticket range, you all just don't want to admit it.

etix.com is where it's at. What's the deal with ticket alternative?
I never said tickets.com was any better.
Ticket Alternative added $2.50 to a $20 ticket and didn't charge for will call or print yourself.

Fair enough. I just think its funny how alot of people on here complain heartily about the evil, terrible, crazy-no-good Ticketmaster but won't direct any of their asinine griping towards Seth's chosen ticketing agent.
Oh I know that their service charges are just as absurd.
Hopefully this means The Black Cat will get rid of their will-call-only policy for online sales.

Worst! Thing! Ever!

I've went twice and they had no record of my order. Pissed me off big time.

what really gets me is how inadequate their infrastructure is - look how the site crashes and fails during popular onsales.  so tickets.com is just as expensive AND they have crappier service?  if you're going to charge as much, please be at least as good and not crash.  thanks.

they sell tickets.
Hi - Ticket Alternative here!

Yes, Black Cat has switched to Ticket Alternative. The first show they put on sale was The Charlatans on Oct 3rd. More shows will get listed this week.

Tickets are available for either will call pick up at the venue, or you can choose delivery by Print-At-Home. Of course, there is no extra charge for Print-At-Home - there is just a small convenience fee per ticket and no order charges.

Ticket Alternative is based in Atlanta GA. We also handle the ticketing for the Rock and Roll Hotel in Washington DC.

You can purchase tickets online at www.ticketalternative.com or by phone by calling 1-877-725-8849 - Our call center is open Monday to Friday from 9am - 9pm EST and from 10a-7p on Saturdays. We are closed on Sundays.

thanks!

TA

Does that mean there are no hard tickets at all?  How about at the box office?

yea, that's what i want to know.  can we still buy tickets at the box office without any service charges?
You can at RNRH, can't you?
Most of these budget ticketing services seem to not offer hard-stock tickets via mail. Etix doesn't either. I guess that's a big expense they have to cut to remain profitable at the service fees they charge.
I got hard tickets for the Phoenix show along with a nifty fridge magnet holder for them.
We offer hard tickets too, and most of our venues choose to do so.

Black Cat really wanted to keep the convenience fee as low as possible. With hard tickets we have to cover the cost of a $0.44 stamp. Print-At-Home and Will Call don't incur any other charges.

They chose to just offer will call and Print-At-Home to keep the costs down even more.
You can buy hard tickets from Black Cat's box office. If you order online or by phone, you can select Print-At-Home tickets and print them out. Black Cat will have hand held scanners to verify tickets at the door.
