if the show does go on it certainly would make it tough to spin a bunch of party music before the band hits the stage….
Why tough? celebrate life by dancing! No one wants to hear depressing stuff.

I agree with Myra about dancing. I think Mr. Jackson would prefer to have people party in his memory than to sit around and mope.

just a case of me over thinking the situation, but ultimately this is a call for the band and it's management… however party music is what i'm planning on spinning at this juncture

like fatskippy said, the scalpers are just faster on the trigger than the general public.

most of me thinks his is cool… obviously there is demand, it's timely, and people want/need an outlet for their grief, celebration, nostalgia, etc. on the other, seems a tad cynical and has a mild odor of profiteering (sp?). serendipidy, sweetcell - gotta move with it, not against it.
regardless, if i was anywhere near DC i'd be at the club tonight. should be a great show with an added veneer of emotion. i hope people report back.

I have to think that the quick second show sellout is at least partly driven by scalpers…there will probably be some available at the door if you just show up

Both versions have their merits… I have a bit of an attachment with the Pseudo Echo version as it some how ended up on several mixtapes made back in the day..
this is one of those show where i may break my no more than one song per artist rule. cause just how does one pick between several great Four Tops singles for instance.
next question…. Rockwell's "Somebody's Watching Me", although probably should wait until after the show for this one
Another after the show pick. "My name is Prince"

I'll give the show a B…. Up until a lengthy "jam" so that the singer could change for the Jackson 5 portion of the show the band was pretty rockin… the J5 songs were meh, but they managed to re-amp it a bit for the closing Thriller songs. There was a little cheating going on with regards to added keyboards… I suspect like SuperDiamond they'll be back at some point.

The J5 stuff was a mess.
The Thriller stuff was ok but I was just waiting for it to be over by then. First 45 minutes or so were great, though.
