in short, this "actor" had multiple bags of pot in his car, and ten full sized pot plants in his mother's home.  that is dealing/distrubution.  you are a dealer with that much.  he was looking at 14 years.  he got 100 hours community service and nothing else, because they said it was for personal use.  makes me sick of the so called "wink/wink" system that exists for the stars.  i do believe that pot should be legal, but it is not, and how do you set examples in this world when you allow them to broken by the very people breaking them?  i hope everybody who has been busted for pot dealing, or will be in the future sues if they did not/will not get the same "punishment."

oh wow, really?  i never looked at it from that angle.  i'm so used to the nazi regime when it comes to pot (because of the hemp perspective) that we live in here.

I've never seen any of these Harry Potter movies, just the previews, and I don't recall that guy being in them, so idk how famous he is.

That said, he appears to be a fatty and has his hair cut with electric clippers. The shoulda thrown the book at him.

i don't have a problem with this case - hopefully it's setting an example for police, judges, paranoid parents, etc. 

not sure that 10 plants constitutes distribution.

and lots of non-famous people walk away from possession charges.  i was once caught by the po-po with something i shouldn't have had.  they threw it out (in such a way as to make it unrecoverable) and told me to "smarten up" - which i took as "don't get caught again".  oh, did i mention this was in canada? :D

I do know of individuals who would go to something called "Hash Bash" at Univeristy of Michigan and the police would just issue people tickets for possession or toking.

wow, i must be the old crotchety, behind the times pot guy.  haven't partaken in the culture in a long time and when i did, they would throw the book at you for any amount.

and yes julian, you are correct . . . the picture of him deserves the lad some amount of public thrashing.

he's like a 4th tier character in the potter world. i think in the 2nd potter is the only one he has more than like 3 lines. he's one of the slithern kids - so essentially a friend of the bad guy. if potter is the only thing he's done - he's not that famous.

At least until very recently, marijuana (or cannabis, as they'd say over there) was a very low priority drug for law enforcement in Britain.  You could pretty much toke up smack on the top of Primrose Hill in the middle of London at noon and even if a bobby caught you, the most he'd probably do is get you to put it out, hand him the rest, and tell you not to do that.  Or so I hear…

I think they upped the severity of it in the last year or so though, so things may have changed.
