help me pick a movie for this afternoon

I'm going to see either inglorious basterds or district 9.  Anyone who's seen both, can you rec one over the other?
tough choice.  i think those are the two best movies i've seen so far this summer.  i highly recommend them both.

what are you looking for?  district 9 has some action, but it actually a lot smarter than the previews make it look.  it's definitely not what i would consider your standard summer popcorn movie.  IG has what you would expect from tarantino: great dialogue and story, plus violence.  it had the crowd cheering by the end.

why not do a double feature?
Seen Inglorious Basterds, it's entertaining. It drags, at points, a lot less than Kill Bill Vol. 2 and he wraps you back up in it when he needs to. It's entertaining, I wouldn't say it's his best. I've heard nothing but positive things for District 9.
Go see something that requires an IQ above 72: The Cove or Adam.
Both are worth seeing. I really liked District 9, but I loved Inglourious Basterds, possibly the best movie of 2009. But not everyone likes Tarantino, so YMMV.

If you're in the mood for a smart SF/action movie, see District 9.

Inglourious Basterds has very little action. It's very talky with occasional and brief violence. If you love well-written, well-acted dialogue, see Inglourious Basterds.

i notice a michal jackson man in the mirror with your posts as of late . . . are you going for the  ______ forumer of the year or something?
Went to see IG.  It dragged just a bit in the middle, but overall was quite good and really funny.

uh, the cove spoon feeds you throughout the entire film.
in julian's america, being told what to think passes for intelligence, duh.  it isn't a democracy.

inglorious basterds was fantastic… great jewish porn, i saw a lot of semitic-looking brethren walking out of the theater with smiles

and i always wondered what scalping actually entailed
District 9 was real good. Inglorious Bastards is peaking my interest now. Hearing alot about that movie…..
