Kia Soul Colletive???? Free shows? MGMT? WALE?

this topic was covered in the "Just Announced" thread.  you'll have to go back 2 or 3 pages.

consensus: MGMT aren't particularly good live, so not much to get excited about.

and last time i saw wale was when he opened for Justice - horrible, nothing but 20 minutes of "DC, gimme some NOOOOOOIIIIIIISE!!!".  ugh.
also worth noting, NO booze at fri, sat, sun events :(

WHAT????  oh that's def going to cancel out all the meatheads for MGMT  ;D
I agree.  Ive seen MGMT twice, once at the 930 club, and once at Bonnaroo 08.  They were pretty bad both times, bad enough that I wouldnt even go to a free show of theirs again.

i see they're still taking RSVPs for tonights event for anyone that's interested. if anyone goes, tell us how it turns out
decided test drive & there are a  ton ofppl here & only 3 cars. got here at 12 and only 6 ppl have  driven so far. if you come out be prepared to wait forever.
do you get two tickets for test drive?  You going to see MGMT?  Don't say we didn't warn you  ;D
yep two tix. better not suck, been here forever.
they might actually be ok for you.  I don't think I've ever heard of any girl actually complain about them now everyone else well…..  ;D
hey. you know you wanna go. i wont tell lol
great, just great
how's the kia??

why don't they have collective soul at this thing?
gd question hoya. kia was okay. smooth ride but not enough leg room in back for a truck that size imo. didnt check everything out, just did my few minutes & got my tickets. was there for 3 hours…
Got my pair.  I was told there will be a happy hour open bar before MGMT comes on.

I got there around 2 and finally got my two at 5. Also for those that are still interested, they're probably capping it around 800-1000 so I'd suggest getting them before its sold out. They upped it from the previous number of 500.

They are also doing shuttle busses to and from union station running every 45 minutes or so for all the acts this weekend.

Pretty funny - maybe BYT read about it here? (their first article reference is dated days after my post)
Yet, they still have the connections to give away 5 pairs of tickets.  If I haven't said before - thanks forumites for all of the announcements and help around here. I have no free tickets to give, just thanks.
I think some of you  should be compensated for the news that The Post and BYT / DCist turn and promote.
Back to the topic, I think what peaked my curiosity w/ this show (other than being free), was the crowd set at 500. Peak to 1,000, with a long wait to test a car I'm not going to buy, I'd rather wait for them to come back to the club. (putting the poor reviews aside for the moment)
What time does the Dan Deacon show start?  How big is this warehouse place??
hmm might have to check this out for Sat.  I guess besides the shuttle is the warehouse near a metro stop?
