Cheap Trick destroyed and everyone was having the time of their lives doing so.  So much fun watch Bun E. Carlos and Tom Petersson grinning their way through the concert, clearily still enjoying performing live.

I have a sneaking suspicion that Cheap Trick was prepping for their upcoming SoundStage perforamce, because of the lengthy set of lesser known ballads in the set tonite. Dodgy setlist aside, it was great watching Jason Falkner having the time of his life playing "Surrender" on stage with them.

I overheard some people grumbling that the band was in a hurry to leave due to the next gig. Oh well, lots of little thrills added up to a truly memorable evening!
I for one totally dug a Cheap Trick set filled with songs they really seemed to WANT to do (i.e. new songs), in addition to the usual classics.  After the last few tours of CT opening for others and playing the 40 min greatest hits set, this was one for the die-hards.  Plus the addition of the J-fish dudes made them downright orchestral. It was suh-weet.

Way of the World
Come on Come on
If You Want my Love
I Want You to Want Me
These Days
Baby Loves to Rock
Sleep Forever
Heaven Tonight
Miss Tomorrow
Miracle
Just Got Back
(Crowd singing Happy Birthday to Robin)
Sick Man of Europe
Closer
Surrender
Dream Police
Auf Wiedersehen
I was ok with the new songs, it's just the pacing could have been better as mixing them up… that long set of ballads was a bit much.  Does Rick no longer do the multi-neck guitar routine anymore?
how much of the Trick set did J&F join in?

They were on stage for all of it and the indication is they will be doing the SoundStage session.
cOOl finally something I like on Soundstage
And there was a second keyboard/singer playing onstage with CT this time, don't think it was the name you mentioned… I think Rick referred to him as Magic Chris
You old guys love it when a band your age kicks some ass, don't you?  ;)
Well my other fave bands from back then – The Clash, Talking Heads, Sex Pistols, Ramones, Cars – they are all long gone. So yes when one of my old fave bands is still around, and still rocks with enthusiasm, and still delivers the goods, plus offers good new tunes as well, then yes I'm into it big time.
