yes, i just joined this only to start a buzz about these guys, Children of Nova - they are doing a national tour and will be in DC on 4/7…. PEOPLE - we gotta get them in here - they are the tits. so fucking awesome. please go listen…
they were described as: "Imagine a symphonic version of Coheed & Cambria meeting the Mars Volta" i meannnn… it's true. it's a blend of masterfulnessss.

wait - this unheard-of-yet-kick-ass band will be in DC, but aren't already booked to play a venue? what, they'll be here to lobby politicians? if so, should we be pulling them away from such important activities, for the sole benefit of our entertainment? seems kinda greedy and self-centered, doncha think?

They've got 2 tour dates booked, unless there's some new Clear Channelesque type venue called "*Please Help Us Book!!!*" that they're playing in two dozen cities!

As far as bands with the name Mars in it they sound more like 30 Seconds to Mars. Seems like they should be touring as a support act or trying to build a name at the Rock N Roll Hotels of the world.

turning this in to a learnable moment: everyone needs to wear weights when diving. even if your body, alone, sinks; with equipment (notably the neoprene wetsuit and the air tank) you become very buoyant. you also want to be heavier than water so you sink, that way you can control your buoyancy through your inflatable vest, called a buoyancy compensator. you can vary how much force is pulling you upwards by adding air to your BC, there isn't anything you can do to quickly vary how much you are being pulled down.
