Neither made it to the tournament.
Granted, Kentucky did beat Tennessee, Vandy, and Louisville, but otherwise they had a pretty weak schedule.

in their defense, they were ranked 11 & 12 at the time:
http://espn.go.com/ncb/teams/schedule?teamId=96. they both started strong, but had terrible end of seasons.

Oh, that's right Sweetcell, I forgot to tell you.
Be sure to tell Sweetercell that I gave away my Travis Ford jersey in protest of the hiring of John Calipari. He'll have them on probation in 3 years….

Washington, DC: If Kentucky wins its region, is it too cynical to immediately call it Kentucky's Future Vacated Final Four appearance?

Calipari is poison. The NCAA is pathetic. If the NCAA doesn't fight to maintain the integrity of college sports, and the idea that these are actually college athletes, what's the point?

Vansmack: Great point and no. The better question is will Pitino then leave Louisville to "rescue the program once again" or will it be a washed up Billy Donovan's turn?

about calipari: do folks personally blame him for UMass' vacated season? it was camby who took the money, not calipari. it was a player who ruined it for the rest of the team, no?
memphis situation is less clear… rose's SAT scores were invalid, Memphis looked in to it and didn't have enough proof to disqualify him so they had to let him play, a fuller investigation (using resources that Memphis didn't have) subsequently discovered that there was good reason to suspect his SAT scores (and he was also invalidated because his brother was allowed to travel for free). i guess the accusation here is that calipari, if not directly involved, allowed these kinds of shenanigans to happen on his watch?
by my scoring, that's one potential problem issue and one non-issue… am i seeing it wrong? i'm not big into college hoops, so feel free to tell me what i'm missing.
