The same blue food dye found in M&Ms and Gatorade could be used to reduce damage caused by spine injuries, offering a better chance of recovery, according to new research.
Researchers at the University of Rochester Medical Center found that when they injected the compound Brilliant Blue G (BBG) into rats suffering spinal cord injuries, the rodents were able to walk again, albeit with a limp.
The only side effect was that the treated mice temporarily turned blue.

so i had to go to work this morning . . . feeling an actual want to after a long weekend of not much going on. but then, i get up to another day to call it off due to over an inch of "ice stuff" in the yard, roads, the cars. i went out to shovel some and it was like those old timey chilly willee slush drinks from highs stores. i think there are still highs in maryland, or something but not sure about the chilly willee. the kittie cats were upset by another day of going outside eating dried up brown grass ruined; how sad. i play some video games, do the laundry and clean a bit. simple things are pleasurable. some parts of our area got up to six inches of snow. that should put out all those huge fires we've had out here in the forest. how nice.
