Coachella Lineup
Originally posted by sonickteam2:Cool. I booked mine in Rancho Mirage, but its not too far away. just closer to downtown Palm Springs. just a note, the Palm Springs/Indio one (i think) is where i stayed last time, and there not much within walking distance anyway, but i think Rancho Mirage has stuff you can walk to.

they are really only like a mile from each other though. [/QB]
So…how do you get to/from the festival site?
Why isn't everyone staying right in Indio?
Palm Springs looks to be about 10 miles from Indio. Don't they have any hotels there?

I just booked a room in Indio - about 1.5 miles from the site. Stumbling home distance!

I guess it's just timing…
Originally posted by Moon Mulllins:we found that it really didnt matter too much where you stayed. If you are right next to the venue, you have to go out into town to get breakfast/cigarettes/beer etc in the morning anyway so its just something you pass on the way to the show. either way, the venue is down this long ass road and i dont think theres any hotels on it. i dont remember seeing anything that was walking distance….not in less than a 30 minute walk from the gate.

That's how…unless you're camping out near the festival site.
Originally posted by sonickteam2:Don't know about walking, but we're staying at the Quality Inn on Monroe St., which is only a 5 minute drive to the lot. None of us drink alcohol or smokes and we're bringing our own food, so we should be good.

The Cure…hmmm…it's been a while but definitely one of the more formative bands for me. Listening to Faith now. May need to break out Disintegration later. Pictures of You still ranks as one of my all time favs. Would be a treat to catch that out in the CA desert.
I dunno, I saw both the Cure and the Pixies back in the summer of 89 in London, and it wasn't that special. Thankfully, Radiohead didn't exist.
Originally posted by Rhett Miller:Rhett - check out a band called Pedal Steel Transmission. You may like. I was digging it all weekend: pitchfork on Pedal Steel Trans It's all over the place - sometimes sounding like crazed indie mariachis.

and I saw the Cure back at the Cap Ctr. I recall it being very good, or as good as it could be in an arena. I'm still looking forward to it in spite of your contrariness. :p
