"i don't support the assault weapon ban, because next thing you know they'll be breaking down my door to take away my steak knives and sewing scissors".

it's a common right-wing tactic: portray a change that is scary to them as a nonsensical slippery slope. it makes sense to them, but only because they put their beliefs before logic or intellectual honesty. bringing in animals is pure

i believe, that unless you are gay . . . your words/ideas/jokes means nothing to this conversation. so go take your political based, religion based, heterosexual based opinion and fuck yourself. we, as gay people, don't give a mule's ass what you think or need you to tell us how to live our lives. again, unless you are gay, "shut up. you've fucked up marriage for the past 1000 years . . . we don't need your help in what the definition is."

Hee hee - He almost said it's a gay thing, I wouldn't understand!
And if you want to be 'accepted by the mainstream' give up with the fucking rainbow stickers already. I don't give a monkeys who you sleep next to at night. Oh, and your gay pride nonesense? All you're doing is making a statement that you're different while demanding you are just the same. Just what do you want exactly?

I think we should all agree on this point. Because honestly, who gives a fuck?

I guess the sticking point I always have is why people that it doesn't affect give a shit. Aside from thinking that it does sound a bit homophobic, I wouldn't jump immediately to say Rat Bastard hates gays. But I would say, without a real clarification, his view of "I'm cool with gays as long as they don't have the same rights as me" sounds nonsensical.

This isn't the one that I was thinking of but it will do. Recently, someone else made the news for wanting to marry their pet. Think it was some woman in Japan.

so frank, you're not serious? you don't think that anyone will try marrying a mule? then why did you put it forth as a argument against gay marriage?

….and what we have here is your typical lefty-loonie making bold statements about what other people are thinking, while throwing in the race card at every opportunity. Even though race is not even a part of the discussion. I'm sure I shoulder some of the blame for the nutjob in Arizona recently right?
I'm not even a conservative you idiot. I don't own a gun, I don't have a concealed weapons permit, I don't belong to the NRA and I don't hunt. I believe if you go into the archives on this message board you will find I am the most outspoken when it comes to being anti 2nd amendment rights. I hate NASCAR and don't like country music (apart from Zac Brown band and a couple of Sugarland songs - great voice eh?- but we all have guilty pleasures) I don't drive a truck..(in fact I drive a classic hippy-mobile - Jeep Wrangler) I don't own a suit and I hang out in coffee shops and bookstores.
You are right on healthcare reform though…I grew up with socialized medicine and even though it sounds great in theory, and I admit it does, the truth of the matter is it
does not work. America already has it anyway….so you may want to ask a veteran how socialized medicine is working out for them? All shit-slinging aside….be careful what you wish for when it comes to this issue.
Right then….back to flaming me for this comment…..(ducks)

As soon as they stop sticking their religious rules in my face through the Government…
Everybody in CA knows that it was not the religious groups in CA that blocked same sex marriage here. Stay the hell in your backwards ass church in your backwards ass state and leave us alone. We'll get along just fine with out you…

Oh, I agree there….they have no place in dictating the law of the land. I was just referencing more Frank's comment about it being a church's right to not recognize it. I'm fine with that, but agree that laws shouldn't have anything to do with the church's input or assbackward-ness.

fair enough, but between your defense of traditional marriage and your statements that you hated only liberal pundits (Keith Olbermann, Bill Maher), you kinda painted yourself into a corner…

i too grew up with socialized medicine, and it
does work. is it perfect? hell no. but less problems than having the uninsured suffer from preventable ailments and having communicable diseases that we vanquished decades ago making resurgences.

I didn't flash the beastiality card, I was being sarcastic to make a point, and it is relevant to a degree that marrying an animal would be non-traditional, and people have already tried

I singled those out because they are far left extremists delivering nothing but a diatribe of hate. I don't even think rational thinking liberals agree with those two

We can debate this till the cows come home (to their spouses) and not agree. The current US health system definately needs an overhaul, but a full blown socialized system is not the answer imo. I think the government just needs to provide for catastrophic and life long injuries and diseases and for disease control (vaccinations etc.) The health insurance market needs to be opened across state lines and you will see premiums begin to drop. Especially if they don't have to cover the catastrophic stuff I just mentioned. Maybe that makes too much sense for beaurocrats? Or I'm too simplistic in my thinking. If you want to wait 5+ months to see a specialist, or 12+ months for that hip replacement/acl tear then knock yourself out. Having just had some pretty major shoulder surgery 2 weeks after it was decided it was required, I don't thank you.walkonby - just the catholics evidently, and it's usually man/boy, which brings us full circle back the gay issue!!! :P Your serve…

Sure you can. We all have the ability to fire a weapon and we can choose to point it at anyone when doing so. As with everything in life, it has consequences.

I am going to post this at the extreme risk of being judged by my response. The thing I don't like about this whole issue is that if one's beliefs are that gay marriage ought now be allowed, they are automatically assumed by many people to be anti-gay, gay haters, or whatever degree of that ideology is being thrust upon them. (This is true of a lot of other issues as well BTW.) I personally am opposed to gay marriage. It, however, has nothing to do with being anti anything other than I am against gay marriage. In whatever choices and decisions I make in life, the sexual orientation, preference, life style choice of others is of no concern. Maybe I am in a small minority here, but it does suck that merely because of my believe on a particular issue I am easily labeled and judged by others.
But you are OK with killing plants which are also living things and eating them?

While you guys are bickering about your preferences about which gender or species it's best to fuck, you seem to have overlooked that Mankie admitted to liking the Zac Brown Band and Sugarland.
And I thought this was a music snob board. You guys truly disapppoint.
