Killers/Keane Rollcall

I didn't think Merriweather ever sold out. The last Radiohead show didn't sell out, did it? I saw them 4 times on that tour and Merriweather was the only one that wasn't sold out.

Take DC Beltway 495 to I-95 North towards Baltimore.
Pass exit 38B, go two more exits.
Exit onto Route 100 West.
Proceed to Route 29 South.
Turn right onto South Entrance Road.
Turn left onto Symphony Woods Road.
Follow to Main Parking Area.
Hey, Kosmo. I think I will try this alternate route. One question, though. It says Proceed to Route 29 South. Do I actually turn on 29? And if so, which way?

i have no idea about merriweather's attendance patterns, but i would expect the killers to sell out before radiohead would … there, i said it.

these guys are really huge right now.

Mabye Sir HC can answer this definitely but… I believe that there is an entrance ramp from 100 on to 29 here so you'll want to follow the signs to get on 29 south.

I'm trying to figure if there is a route from rockville to columbia that doesn't involve the beltway… however it appears all roads in montgomery county lead to DC
kosmo vinyl:
Go to mapquest and simply put in Rockville, MD for start and Columbia, MD for finsih. It should give you directions using 28E (NORBECK RD.), 198E and 29N. This basic way can be crowded but has saved me a lot of time in the past.

If it does not work on the first try in mapquest try again and chose avoid highways but it should work if you simply start at rockville, MD and end columbia, MD (no actual street addresses)

:) i love it!
i won't be there.
There are tons of tickets on craig's list that people are desperate to sell - I've seen plenty below cost. In fact, a co-worker of mine has 2 lawn seats he can't get rid of.

I, too, was in the traffic hell for Radiohead and haven't been back since… until tonight :D
thanks… i work closer to shady grove so i'm shooting for getting on 108 east after a couple twists and turns…. but that route is certainly an option.
From Shady Grove road you can take Muncaster Mill road (115) to 28/Norbeck as well… MUCH better than the 270 to 495 thing (in my opinion)

Jason
don't i know it! have to go 270 to 495 everyday to get home to greenbelt… yuck yuck yuck even at 3:30pm
ill be there at some point tonight assuming no more car fiascos. and if i get stranded guess it means ill have to call kurosawa or novadancer :)
As I remember, Radiohead *did* sell out that show at Merriweather a couple of years ago.
Would anyone suggest taking I-29 straight up there during rush hour?

For the radiohead show, my friends left DC right after work and were lucky enough to catch the encore. They were *not* happy!

So I'd say no.

So who is making the trek to the burbs to see the mini IMPfest tonight? The most interesting act of the evening is Maximo Park who are playing earlish…

I'll be DJing in 9:32 from when doors open at 5pm until Keane hits the stage, so swing by for several cold drinks and fun tunes. Was cherry picking tracks from the Stiff and Nuggets boxsets this morning. So expect Department S, Wreckless Eric, The Move, The Easybeats, plus The Soft Boys, Do Me Bad Things, De Novo Dahl, Nic Armstrong, Prefab Sprout, Delgados, David Holmes etc, etc,
I listened to Wreckless Eric's Whole Wide World today. Thanks for the flashback.Excellent!

I just remember having trouble getting rid of my extra tickets. That's why I'm thinking it wasn't sold out
