http://www.pollstar.com/blogs/news/archive/2011/03/31/761694.aspxA man plunged to his death after police say he crashed through a window at an arena on the campus of the University of Pittsburgh during a concert.
The Allegheny County medical examiner's office identified the man as 19-year-old Joseph Kimutis, of McDonald. He had been rushed to a hospital after smashing through a window at the Peterson Events Center and falling about 30 feet on Wednesday night.
Pittsburgh police are checking on a report that Kimutis got down in a football stance, yelled "hike," and then charged toward the window.
Police Lt. Daniel Herrmann said Kimutis was reportedly "a little out of it." Toxicology reports are pending.
Kimutis' death happened during a concert by Furthur, a band that includes two former Grateful Dead members.

Is this not par for the course when members of the GD or a GD cover band are concerned?

Man I spent a good 10 minutes doing various searches for the actual Pettibone art. Good work.

I couldn't remember the artist name. Once I had that I searched "raymond pettibon double nickels" (without the quotes).

i was actually at this show. went to binghamton and pittsburgh to help my friend vent t-shirts. we actually know a pin vendor who spoke to the kid a few seconds before it happened. he said the kid never yelled "hike" or anything like that, but was acting rather oddly. he sprinted head-first into the window and dove right through. i was in the section near where it occurred and saw the broken window. pretty intense.
fwiw, the second set was the best furthur set i've seen yet. definitely emotionally charged.
