i tried one once . . . they are not as good as mcdonalds. why is that?  real food should taste better than fake food.

Generalizations about Phish fans isn't humor either!

I smell better than all of you.
yes . . . i too have always hated the phish fan stereotype.  you know what else i hate.  i have a good job, like to dress like i care, don't wear tacky grateful dead tshirts with artwork covering every fucking space of the shirt to every show with a pair of god awful cords . . . and at every show, i am treated like the undercover cop.  everytime.   it's like they actually look at me and go, "duddddddeeeee . . . you don't look like a trainwreck, you must be a cop."

Gogol Bordello, Los Lobos, and Budos Band are all playing (at separate venues) NYE in NYC. All seem like good picks to me.
Old 97s are playing bar mitzvahs now?
Where did you read that?

And so what if they were? If a private event pays more than a club gig, why wouldn't an artist take the gig?

Ted Leo & The Pharmacists NYE @ Maxwells
12/30 @ The Rock Shop (or maybe the Bell House). Cant totally remember.
(for nyc-ish shows - this by far is the cheapest show Ive come across).

according to ggw its the rabinowitz bar mitzvah..if ggw is making stuff up please disregard my words

usually when an "artist" is reduced to playing bar mitzvahs and go the wedding singer route its because they can't fill up clubs.

you're right that real artists like dylan and the stones will do private gigs for which they are paid millions.. somehow i doubt thats the case here.

sting famously and shamefully played a private gig for i want to say for the wedding of the daughter of the uzbeki dicktator..
The Budos Band with Charles Bradley in Brooklyn sounds hot
Charles Barkley is now performing live? shit.. i gotta tap that…
