12:30 AM set time for Peter Murphy is absurd

Of course it is, but it's also infantile to expect all your suggestions and complaints to be accommodated.

The nerve of those people, not adjusting their schedule to yours.  If they had any decency they'd move to Rockville to make going there more convenient for you.

actually yes… that good..unbelievable voice..great performer…at the state theatre show he really exuded a lecherous persona

you may have heard of bauhaus….
yeah, i was going to go to this show since I missed the Baltimore show, but no way can I go to work on time the next day with that start time, heh.
i've heard of bauhaus . . . but that whole era, scared me.

i was too busy listening to dead kennedys and the circle jerks.
TonyT, you still at the show or has it let out by now?
what I'm hearing is that a (slightly) older crowd does not want to be out that late, probably especially on a weekday

we were concerned about that on this one, but this was the only date to do the show and we already had the earlier show booked

perhaps it would've been better to let it play elsewhere

anyway, duly noted and, yes, we listen
While I think half the crowd left after She Wants Revenge, I do think there was still a decent turn out for a late performance.  Those that stayed, got to enjoy Peter Murphy sounding awesome.

Thanks for having this show Seth!
Just walked to work from the 930 Club… show just ended about an hour ago.

I did stay to the end (2:15) and did greatly enjoy it.  There is certainly no better venue to hear Peter Murphy than the 9:30 club and despite my complaints, ultimately, I would prefer you do what you did rather than pass up on the show.  I guess the problem came from the unusal situation where both bills had three bands.  My only advice would be to try to minimize this and do your best to compress schedules without compromising set length.  Could you have started the first show earlier?

Oh, and I am "slightly" older only by the calendar :)

Agreed.  I really enjoyed this show and was glad to see it at the 9:30 Club.
TonyTonorro I do agree with you about shows with the Headliner starting late.  There have been a few shows that go late at 9:30 Club that I have seen.  Foo Fighters 2005, Beastie Boys due to the train being late, Live after headlining the HFStival in 2001 at 1:30 a.m. in the morning and Robert Rudoph and the Family Band.  There have been 3 shows I think at 9:30 Club in one day back in 2002 show in the afternoon and 2 different shows at night.  TonyTonorro I do agree people have to go to work.  How about weekend shows end late past Midnight to 2 or 3 a.m. in the morning and weekday shows have to end no matter what at 1 a.m. and doors have to open no later than 10 p.m.
Last call is at 2 on weeknights.

Honestly, we're spoiled with concerts ending as early as they do in DC. In every other city I know of, shows letting out before 12:00 are the exception, not the rule. Be grateful that we only have to encounter this a few shows a year. Just ask anyone from the Baltimore area what the average end time for a show is. If you get the occasional show that ends late, either suck it up or stay home.
Sounds as though those who sucked it up in this case are happy they did.
anybody have a setlist from the show? i'd love to know what he played
