Anyone been to American Eats??

Overpriced crap I tell you. I'd rather spend $12 at a food truck.

Zatinya and Jaleo are two of my favorites…

He should be laughing at himself for being involved in that awful Meatballs place.
A friend of mine works on one of those trucks. Not sure which.

I gave it two chances. Even Subway can manage to reheat their meatballs so they aren't cold on the inside.
Hah POTW

Hipster fare or not, my friend's food is delicious. I crave some of his recipes. You'll have to decide about cost, I dunno, lunch is expensive everywhere. Anyhow, link above. (930 6 degrees (or maybe 2) of separation too. you'll have to figure it out)

I had a 2-day meeting in Penn Quarter this week.  (ugh)  Most people went to Potbelly both days.  I hit Meatballs, then Hill Country.  I estimate my lunches were 60000x better.

A meatball sub from Potbelly is actually better than a meatball sub from Meatballs.

I won't argue on taste, but it kinda skeeves me out when chain restaurants trade craft for consistency.  I'm not sure I want to be able to get a Potbelly Turky-n-Chez ™ that tastes exactly the same in the Cincinnati airport as it does in the St. Louis airport.
I went to Meatballs and had a terrible middle school cafeteria quality meal and then noticed a charge on my receipt that said "Open Food." I asked about the charge and they said it was for the toppings. I point to a sign that said "Toppings Free!!" and they responded with "one topping is free….you got two toppings." Oh cool, thanks for the heads up.

Also, they played non-stop 80s doo-wop billy joel….

So, it was like several awful things happening at once.

They were playing Ryan Adams the last time I was in Potbellys.
