The Nationals and Orioles are both in first place

yes, a few tweets do indeed paint an entire fan-base of millions in a single color.  if a black player on the bruins had scored that goal, i can assure you that a few local bigots would have posted the exact same thing (assuming they're smart enough to use computers).

btw, you're aware that the bruins had the first black player ever, right?  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Willie_O%27Ree

School Busing
Barry Bonds, just for starters.

Yeah, Joel Ward was a real isolated incident in Boston.
ooh ooh . . . i came here just to see what was going on and it looks like i arrived at

Well look at that.  They're both 14-8.  Is 13.5% of the season enough of a sample size?

I didn't think so.

And were the last baseball team to add a black player…

that's ok, the bruins' baseball team has always sucked.  black players didn't want to be on their team.  definitely a case of sticking to what you do best - play hockey.
I would have guessed Marlins or Rockies. Or technically, the Nats.

And you'd have guessed wrong.  Those franchises all started with black players…
Pretty sure old Pumpsie Green was in the majors before those teams were.
;D

A retired former coworker called me up Tuesday offering me a free clubhouse ticket to last nights Nats game. Had to turn him down because it was the last night of a visit from my mom, and i had to get up before 5am to help her make transporation connections. Sure wish I'd been at the game.
^^ was watching the game last night, LOVE Bryce's energy, seeing him jet to 2nd base had my heart racing, so excited when Ian smashed that homer! I thought it was gonna be a pop fly for sure.
And the Orioles win 2 out of 3 from the Yankees!  WOO HOO!

And they should have won the first game :)

Definitely not too many brothers playing hockey…but I like to think this story is more of a reflection on Boston's hockey fans, rather than hockey fans in general.
