Your 23 favorite albums of 2012

I can put it on the best of 2012 because I like it.  How hard is that for you to understand?  Wait a second if I think Neil Young has put out 30 years of shitty music I am wrong for insulting people's opinions on here.  But you actually hating everything that has been put out in the last 25 years is Ok?

Here it comes.

good call! they are pretty popular this week

you would think someone as opinated about music as much as you would have made a list.

oh my you're really chompin at the bit today aren't you… go take a smoke break or something.

I bought the Django Django last week or so… found a promo of the CD

Sorry its nothing special… not sure how you can put it on a list of the best of 2012.

you are trolling when you go around insulting every band I like.  You don't like them who gives a shit?  Guess what I am entittled to my opinion.  As it is my own opinion.  Not an opinion I got from listening to the music and enjoying it.  I really like the Alt-j album.  If you dont' like it more power to you.  But I haven't insulted anyone's listings and it is easy for you because you haven't came up with a list for 2012.

Lists like these are useful in that if you like some of the bands you have heard on someone's list you might check out ones you don't know.  It isn't meant to be a place for putting down other people's music.  Just like in the other thread instead of listing bands that you think put out 5 great albums you had to attack me.  Get a life.  If all you are doing is posting about bands you like  that every knew about 25 years ago you really aren't providing useful information.

There were only maybe six albums this year that passed the "I'll listen to this enough times that the artist deserves my money for it" test.  Not that it was a bad year for music, I just didn't get into much new stuff and went to more shows as opposed to bought music.

That being said, of the albums I bought this year my favorite was…

Future of the Left - the plot against common sense

this was my album of the year as well

astonishingly good - taut, brutal, melodic, funny
My Top 10:

10] Kendrick Lamar - Good Kid: M.A.A.D City
9] DIIV - Oshin
8] The Men - Open Your Heart
7] Foxygen - Take the Kids Off Broadway
6] Unknown Mortal Orchestra - Self-Titled
5] Tame Impala - Lonerism
4] Dirty Projectors - Swing Lo Magellan
3] JAPANDROIDS - Celebration Rock
2] Hot Chip - In Our Heads
1] Divine Fits - A Thing Called Divine Fits
Caspian - "Waking Season"
Lymbyc Systym - "Symbolyst"
Beach House - "Bloom"
Father John Misty - "Fear Fun"
Grimes - "Visions"
Adding the Dry The River - Shallow River to my favorite albums of last year, it's totally gotten under my skin the last couple days.
