Vertical earbud banded headphone apocalypse

Knowing nothing of this product aside from that gif, I am very curious what you think of it. It seems like something that will be cool in principle and horrible in execution. Are people near you going to be able to hear your music?

reviews I've read said people can't hear them next to you unless you have at max volume (no more than AirPods at max volume)
reviews online (toms hardware and WSJ) sold me on making the purchase plus the extra 15% I got off using my prime credit card on prime day

You can swap out the lenses for prescription too…in the $50 range (depending on options)
which I think is a big plus

Yes, very interested in your opinions of those Bose Frames.  Hard for me to ever give up my Wayfarers - 148mm across the bridge is going to be too big for my head.  I'm less interested in the AR future than the sound quality.

Over The Ear:  Bowers and Wilkins PX (Bluetooth, 3.5mm, and USB-C Audio)
In ear - Bose SoundsSport Free Wireless
Google Pixel USB-C Headphones - throwaways in a pinch (I think I've used them once)

The rondo's are slightly smaller at 142mm…but more a feminine look

Recently moved to bluetooth buds for the gym, but their extra weight (from the amps presumably) makes them partially fall out while doing exercises on my back, just enough for the bass to disappear. The first pair I tried were terrible; the JBLs I have now are much better but still lose bass. Considering custom earpieces like these (not necessarily these specifically).

So….I can't say the sound quality it the greatest.
I'm no audiophile, so I'm not a good test case
It's fine for me.  But it only goes soo loud and it's just not the immersive experience you get from headphones

I tried on the Metro and the background noise was so loud at times I couldn't hear the music (cupped my ears as a solution…but annoying)

What I really like is I can put them on and have conversations with people.  My kids can listen to music in the car and I can have a pod cast going at the same time

I really hate the in the ear style buds.  I think I may need custom ones as I've never found a comfortable pair

I have been using them mostly for podcasts as of late and for that I think they are great

I don't ride my bike with headphones…as you can't hear things, which I think is super dangerous
So with these, I can take them on a ride.  (although 99% I just like biking without any music…it's my quiet time)

Also it's nice way to take calls.
They are fairly light which was suprising
the lenses are meh (they make some nice mirrored ones you can buy and prescription lenses are also an option)

My absolute biggest gripe…the charging cable is very unique ( a proprietary pogo-pin cable that adheres magnetically.)
and if you lose it you are screwed
As of a month ago there was no way to order a replacement, but read that if you contact support they will sell you one for $45

The case is nice, but they really should make a way to hold the charger so it doesn't scratch your lenses
simple little elastic loop attached to the inside would all that is needed
Battery life is great IMO  3.5 hours

Since the baby came I switched to contact lenses 100% of the time and thought about buying these yesterday as there were prime day sales, but I just couldn't pull the trigger given how much I love my Wayfarers.  I've worn them since high school and just can't give that style up.
