Hmm this is interesting.  I was the guy who once told Antony Keides to do us both a favor and change professions.  However,  Frusciante is 100 times the guitarist that Eddie Van Halen ever was so I am going to have to take RHCP over Van Halen.  Although Diamond Dave is a much better front man than Antony. 

did your story have to include "i spoke to anthony" just to make you feel like you've done something with your life, or to make us think of you somehow different?  neither worked, by the way.

I included the story before.  I included it because it lets you know not to listen to my career advice.  I helped boo antony off stage and then told him this after the show.  He was certainly the last person I expected to have any success musically.  It shows even I don't always know who will be popular in the end.

Although to be honest, it's more of a simile.

When it comes down to it, if the Red Hot Chili Shits are playing at venue A and Van Halen at venue B, I'm staying home. If either airs on the radio, it gets turned off. Case closed in my book.

Back in the '80s, I thought David Lee Roth was the most annoying person on Earth in rock. Of late, I now think it's Anthony Keddis, outside of Bono taking the #1 forever and ever status on that one.

that is interesting comparison as I saw the Globetrotters in the 70's and they were great basketball players.  They had showmanship but at the end of the day they were excellant at playing b-ball.  Wilt Chamberlain was a globtrotter after leaving college for a year.
