catching Metro from Stathmore

Quick question- going to Nick Cave tonight.  Can I take Metro home?  Drove last time and it was a nightmare.

Thanks,

frippy
guess it would depend on what time the show ends… as long as it's before the last train, taking metro is pretty easy.  there is a covered walkway between the grosvenor-strathmore metro station (red line) and the venue.
you're good, will be over by 11 or so?
Strathmore website says the show will last 150 minutes, from an 8:00 start.. that's 10:30.  Who knows how accurate that is though.  Last train is 11:42.

I'm going to try the Metro as well.  We shall see.
Thanks for the info!
Why was it a nightmare last time?  I thought it was okay, but my husband knows the back roads from columbia.

Going tonight too!  Can't wait.
I used Metro last time I went to a show there. It couldn't have been easier. There's a covered walkway and everything. All you do is take the elevator in the parking garage up a few levels and there's a bridge that goes over the road in order to get you into the Strathmore. If driving seems unattractive, Metro will be much easier.
Nightmare because of traffic, bad weather and I lived in Fredericksburg, VA when we last went to a show there.  Now I am in Arlington so I am hoping the Metro commute will be okay. 8)
most shows there end between 10:30 and 11.

not really my favorite place to see a rock show.
Gotcha.  I love going to shows there!  It's so pretty and the sound is really good.
Just scored orchestra row BB dead center seats on stubhub for $50..there's a lot of tickets there below face value, starting at $35.

I'm stoked.  Thought I was going to miss this.  The streak lives.
are you telling me we have a skippy . . . and now a frippy in here?

if you can afford the prices for this show you can afford to take a cab home if you miss the metro.

True.  However, since I have only been to Strathmore once and haven't caught Metro from there I just wanted to make sure my transportation plans were okay.  Thanks everyone for the info; can't wait for tonight.
Prices on stubhub now down to under $20…even orchestra center seats are $35.
Craaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaap  :-[

I forgot this was tonite so I made plans. Would have bought off stubhub.
hey atomicfront . . . just curious, if said person would have bought his ticket off of stubhubb for thirty five dollars, like these other fine peoples are suggesting, does the same "ride in a cab you bum" rule still apply?
at this point you could afford the ticket but not the cab!
