He's gonna pay us $20 to attend his show? Not nearly enough!
But anyway, this is a pretty damn cool thing to do for his fans.

If ZZTop were on the dc bill, I might have considered it. But fact is, if Iron Maiden wont get me to go to a shed, I cant fathom making the trip for Kid Rock

If the ZZTop of 35 years ago showed up, maybe. But if the lame geezers who phoned it in at VFest showed up, then no way.

People appeared to enjoy those Club shows if what I read on this forum is any indication.

i thought ZZ's performance at VFest was decent. not spectacular but t'was a fun time.
their 2 club shows were better because they got full sets, got into all their shticks, and it was their crowd.
i've enjoyed the last 3 times i've see ZZ Top, but they sure as hell aren't good enough to get me to go out the the hellhole in bristow.

is jiffy nissan that bad a venue . . . or just sucks getting there. i honestly see no difference in jiffy pop and merriweather, as a venue itself. i think the lot at jiffy peanut butter is better, and the lawn at merriweather blows.

I haven't been to a show at the Lube, but I do agree with the lawn at Merriweather blowing.
But don't we all like to get blown?

my two biggest complaints about nissan/lube/bristow:
- it's souless. it's a big corporate venue made of steel and plastic. it feels like a cross between a strip mall and a mega-church (or are these the same these days?). it just looks and feels… ick. this is mostly aesthetic and i'm willing to overlook this shortcoming if it weren't for:
- access & parking. getting in and out of bristow for sold out shows is hell on earth. bring a case of beer with you but not to pre-game. that place has given rise to the post-game. i've been caught in the parking lot unable to move for an hour. getting in to the show is even worse: i've missed half a show because there are two single-lane roads that lead into the venue. the venue wants to build better access roads, but rumor has it that the locals don't like the loud noisy venue so they're constricting it by not allowing roads to be expanded. i once left DC at 4 pm for a 7:30 show and didn't get there on time. some friend who did left the city at 2 pm. eff that, i can drive to philadelphia in less time.
radiohead or daft punk will get me back to bristow… short of that, forget it.
