This band/solo artist is like __fILL iNN____ beer

Atomicfront's Wilco is the Coors Light of beers statement brought this to mind..

I'm thinking Neil Young is the Molson of beers…
Myracle Brag is the Natty Boh of rock
Guided By Voices is "Lots of it" beer brand
Nick Cave is the Heineken of rock.
The Lumineers = Bug Light… tasteless, insipid, consumed in great quantities by the bros.
Nick Cave tastes like a skunk?

Do you know that personally, or did his wife tell you.

I was actually thinking that Wilco are more like Sierra Nevada Pale Ale.

…very popular but not with the American Idol/mainstream crowd. They once were considered edgy, now they're more of a classic. But still, their quality can't be denied.

Or you could go with Wilco Tango Foxtrot from Lagunitas.
Pearl Jam is the Yuengling of rock.

The Lumineers are like Miller because they are the champagne of bands.
The mediocre rating for the beer matches the band.

yes yes we know its all about the ratings for you man… props for being able to look it up!  ;D

i'm not passing judgment on the beer or band.. just think their place in the grand scheme is being perceived as a solid meat and potatoes rock band a cut above most of the popular rock bands… sort of like yuengling is a beer a cut above the bud/miller/coors popular beer….
Fair enough. I actually tend to agree with your assessment.

Though I don't listen to PJ or drunk Yuengling.  ;)

Dead Kennedy's are like the MAD DOG 20/20 of wines.
the first time i got drunk, i was in high school with two girls down by the river.  we drank mad dog twenty twenty, grape, and i fell in the river.  those two girls laughed at me and i pulled them in.  oh the memories.

Zima isn't even made anymore.  You are out of date in more areas than just music.
Minor Threat are the root beer of rock.
