Naw, the Obama one is much better..

1) "mccain is old" jokes are getting as old as… well… mccain. so he's not a spring chicken. get over it. few presidents have been.

2) i don't "get" the new yorker's obama cover… his name is obama, so he must be a terrorist? really? dunno, doesn't seem clever, or insightful, or anything really. but that's just me.

3) or maybe it's not just me - IHT: obama is a hard target for comedians

and i seriously don't get what's funny about the obama cover. if someone could help me out with this one, i'd appreciate it. seriously, as far as i can tell the only thing it's got going for it is shock value, the "oh no they didn't!" factor. is that it?

EDIT: some generous soul has just clued me in about fox labeling the obamas' infamous fist-bump as a "terrorist fist jab". cover makes much more sense now. fox has since apologized.

its supposed to be funny because its absurd. as in, its crazy that obama is a muslim, its silly to suggest his wife is a black panther, and just because he doesnt wear a pin 100% of the the time, that must mean he burns the flag

now it fails because people actually believe those things, but the reactions on both sides are funny to me at least so i suppose that is somewhat of a success

a guy i work with says he wont vote for Obama cause he refuses to say the Pledge of Allegiance.
