100 new speed/stop cameras in DC starting Monday

what i love about the DC cameras is they are so obviously about making money… there's some real head scratchers out there…the one coming off of route 50 into New york avenue….the one that goes below K Street around foggy bottom…comical… at least arlington, which has less than 20, puts them, you know, at dangerous intersections…

we just had a problem with these in Baltimore - I believe Baltimore had the most speed cameras out of any city….they 100% used it as a money marker only.  Turns out many of the cameras were faulty, so they all have been disabled until they come up with a better solution.

Aren't the ones in DC an obvious money grab as well…. I fucking hate those things. They're going to start putting them in at stop signs as well.

And DC is going to start taking pictures if you don't yield to pedestrians, block intersections, etc. It's insane.

Well both of those are good things.  The speeding thing is a cash grab but not yielding to pedestrians should be punished as harshly as DWI.  And blocking intersections should be punished pretty harshly as well.  But people should get points on their licenses.  Rich people in DC don't care about getting a little fine.
