Where do you get all that new cool hot music from?
Fortunately, this only has a couple of my secret music stash sites. Last thing I want is for them to get widely publicized.
i remember the good ole days, when people would bop their head with biker shorts and lots of pink on, and say, "why the mall you silly." that's where all the cool things are.
you got a problem with head boppin'?
Perhaps off-topic, but I'm looking for the 930 forum thread regarding eMusic. Can one of you super-search-sleuths provide a link?

emusic = music death
I usually find stuff on other forums for bands I like… Like minded people seem to like similar music. Who knew?
funny, i think of it as music evolution. i like the fact that i don't have to trudge down to an over AC'ed mall several miles away to get new music that is shrink-wrapped in too much plastic. i do miss the album art, but tapes and CDs have done a decent job of killing that art form anyways.
the convenience of having an album when i want is way cool. technology is good.

Roughly 80-90% of the shows I've been to in recent years were bands I found out about on the internet somehow.
Originally posted by walkonby:i disagree… there is lots of stuff on eMusic that has not been released on CD in the US available only as an import. i.e The Rascals - Rascalize 20.98 via Amazon for the CD. Two or Three dollars via eMusic.

plus. eMusic has plans to make available albums long out of print on vinyl
people bemoan the rise of MP3 only releases but in some cases they make perfect sense to me. i.e. Idlewild's b-side and rarities collection is an digital release, which makes sense because only their most rabid fans are likely to be interested in getting it and it doesn't make sense to release on CD for such a limited market.
i also noticed that the Rhino has released digitally the second disc for the recent expanded release of Love's "Forever Changes" album. here again makes perfect sense, as there maybe some interested in this additional material but may already own the album and don't want to shell out for the deluxe CD again.
