META: Are we entering the Golden Age of this board?

No Rhett, Brian, Dupek, or Atomic (thanks Kosmo for growing a spine!) Julian and Miss P back. Hutch getting drunk and starting a bunch of threads.

This could be the best this community has ever been. Discuss.
I think with Atomic and james gone.. Ratbastard in a happier mood…

yes, we may be entering a golden age… its just such a fine line between ennui and politesse…

atomic doesn't exist.
Sorry, but the Markie, Mankie, Lulu, Thirsty Moore, Bede, Dupek, Doomlink, Jaguar, etc… era of roughly a decade ago was the height of this little cyber civilization.  Just go look at those old threads - classics all.

I think that was a different era of not only this board, but the internet in general. Over time, it gets quite tiring to try and continue an internet persona. Why not just interact like normal human beings?

Other than Dupek and Doomlink, I actually interacted with all those people in…like…real life.  Outside of Venerable Bede, there was nothing "normal" about any of them.

A fair counter-argument, indeed.
Odd…all seemed to get better when Sidehatch showed up
So yeah I'll take credit

I'm out of the loop.  Where did atomic and james go?  Banned?

The world may never know. Lord knows I wasted a solid two weeks at work chasing ghosts.

Julian or James… however, I'm not sure where James would gather some of the knowledge that atomic had about expensive things and wasting money.

Hurwitz
Whoever he/she/it was seems to have actually been at that first Neutral Milk Hotel show… I doubt Seth or James would have been there.
Also he seemed to have been to a lot of spots like Floristree; James or Seth would never go to places like that.
Maybe you're atomic?

Really, aren't we all Atomic (in the "meta" sense)?
