happy 70th birthday arthur lee

that is one bad ass photo, thanks for posting
saw Arthur Lee (and the incarnation of Love that he had at that time) back in 2004, still one of the best concerts I've been to….
The Birchmere show was so incredible.  Maybe the greatest concert I've ever seen.

I thought I was the only person alive that knew about this.

Did I forget us falling asleep together at some point?
bah that State Theatre gig haunts me. I was going to to go to it…but I won some tickets to DC101's Chili Cook off (I forget why it was in the fall that year). That show was a mess as the Cake singer was baiting the crowd…so much so that they did not play "The Distance" out of spite I guess. Switchfoot was so awful that my brother yelled "Go back to California" really loud between a song that it prompted the singer to look at him and say "Thanks man, much appreciated" The worst was during Chevelle all these girls got assaulted really bad…like clothes getting torn off bad. Then the entire crowd left and no one saw The Donnas. I regret going to that shitstorm every time someone mentions Love or The Zombies.

Happy birthday Arthur!

Anyway, Chaz, I'm pretty sure we covered this about a decade ago, but maybe it was someone else on the board.  Redsock maybe?  Walter is a friend of mine and I've followed his career pretty closely from the punk days on.  I was hoping to see him a few weeks ago when I was in NY but he was on the road with Dead Heavens.

The Arthur Lee's Lullaby stuff is some of my favorite of his more recent songs.
