DUFFY'S bar is back

Best news of the week!
I wish they pre-sold bar credit in a smaller amount than $300 in the kickstarter. I would totally buy $100 but as infrequently as I get to DC at this point, $300 would be a total waste.
Yes, great for everyone involved.

I let management know of your suggestion.  They're looking it over…

For the record, Smackie is 3000 miles away and dropped the $300.  Hoping to host a party there in the spring.

That sounds like a swell time.

No offense, but what is special about Duffy's?

The few times I stopped in, it was filled  with bros, and had bad beer. The only thing it seemed having going for it was proximity to the 9:30 Club. But so do other places.

I tend to agree… it was a pretty terrible bar and I actually love dive bars that serve shitty beer.

I find it humorous that you think people would be offended by the idea that they would a different opinion than you on something, rather than say, a badge of honor?

It was just a place we went a lot because I had a friend who lived around the corner. The bar food was always good, the patrons were always chill (never got a bro vibe), the drinks were cheap and strong. It was a fun dive bar that I was sad to see go because I had many a fun night there. Cannot speak to the beer.

Yep.  It was convenient, though, to just walk in, use the toilet, and walk out, before going to the show.
[Please no discussion on ethics of doing that; I musta bought a beer or two there over the years]
uhhh, one of those.  the, worst.

I think you're missing a word in your sentence.

But to address my line of thinking…if someone had held some sort of love for the bar, I didn't want to hurt their feelings. Kind of like not telling someone their girlfriend  or wife is noticeably ugly when that's exactly what you think.
Nice. May pick up the $25 option.

Beer list was fine. Nothing out of this world but wasn't limited to Bud/Miller products. Food was good too.

Bless your heart.
Awesome news! Does new ownership mean they'll have different wings? And will they still offer shots whenever Tony Romo throws a pick!?

I guess it will be more frequent/useful when Robert Cousins McCoy throws one this season though.

Awesome news!
I liked Duffy's.  The food portions were huge.  Not a fan of the wings though.  I may recall incorrectly (it has been a while0 but I think their wings had more of a cayenne pepper type taste to them than a true buffalo sauce.  Not a fan of that type sauce.  Perhaps offering at least a small variety of sauces (the current one, buffalo, teriyaki) would be a good marketing decision.  The fish and chips sound like a good idea, malt vinegar for the fish is a must!

Yes.

No.  The new owner was a customer, and Andy Duffy, the previous owner, is now the manager.

Probably, but not sure yet.
