It is not about personal likes or dislikes. It is about looking good.

If you are comfortable and enjoy wearing them go for it!! What is or is not "in-style" or "hip" is not important. Please yourself. And remember, some talented fashion designer designed these pleated pants, so everyone should show their respect.

Well you learn something new every day!.. I had no idea….. one thing I learned a long time ago is I couldn't care less about what the sheeple/herd think…. in fact I tend to like the idea of being more like a "salmon"…. there's also that famous line from the Woody Allen movie..

"The… the other important joke, for me, is one that's usually attributed to Groucho Marx; but, I think it appears originally in Freud's "Wit and Its Relation to the Unconscious," and it goes like this - I'm paraphrasing - um, "I would never want to belong to any club that would have someone like me for a member."

A Commenter on the WSJ Thread said it well:

@Michael Garcia I would add, who are these men that even care what the fashion industry thinks or says! Of course, there are small fraction that follow the trends, but if it's available, it looks good, it's of sufficient quality, and it's comfortable, I'll buy. As another commenter notes, I have never stopped wearing pleats!

"If it looks Good."
A single pleat pants from a decent company might look ok (J Crew etc).
Pleated pants with multiple pleats. Will. Never. Look. Good.

Cargo shorts are also out of style, in case some of you didn't hear.
