What were you doing while to forum was down?

I was running through wheat fields.

How about you guys and gals?
That's "the forum". Obviously I wasn't working on my grasp of the English language.

I was running through the wet grass, falling a step behind
mostly crying.
i went to the zoo.. how is this new forum any different?
Uh, I was working to finish implementing this new forum for you guys. Obviously.
I don't remember but what I should've been doing is buying a new pair of glasses so I could actually read the text here
yes . . . the new design and text and colors, and whatever else you want to add to that, is hard to take at first.  I guess, you get used to it, and think it is cool at a later time; because what, are you going to do about it.
just like Comey's written statement I feel let down by the new forum which seems exactly like the old forum.. we even got Julian with his stupid integer thing (no offense dude but really? this is what you save up for us?)..
how odd.  hutch and I almost posted about the same thing, in two different threads, at the exact same time.

I also have an idea to reboot Hannah Montana with an all African-American cast and call it Hennessy Tennessee but logistically, I probably have to let Tyler Perry play Hennessy's dad and also grandmother to sufficiently have cover for the racial backlash, and honestly, he seems like a pain to work with.
well at least its something new… I say keep at it.. if you can spare the time away from the integers of course..
I decided to yell at my kids and kick the dog
glad it's back up, don't think the household could take it any more

haven't really noticed new features..it is a little thinner font and harder to read
buttons are the same…but end up in different places…so I find my mouse going to a place where nothing is
colors are a little extreme?
seems like it can expand to a wider screen now
did we lose the weird parquet floor background?
I do like the header on the page …but doesn't add much but push the posts a little further down the page
after a few minutes of prodding i have the following feedback:
- default font size is too small.
- header at top of page is too big.
- i was excited to see that the pages are responsive (variable width tables!)… but that appears to only work on desktop.  my biggest gripe about mobile remains: the page is fixed width, and too small to read.
- site now offers comic sans.  there is no reason for that.  ever.

i like the reply editor, some nice additions there minus the comic sans (but do the drop-downs need to take up the entire width?).

thanks to kosmo and anyone else involved in this effort.  don't pay too much attention to me, i spend my days critiquing website design and usability/UX…
Here is an account feature that I think is new
Buddies/Ignore List
I think yada will like this one

although on second look, might just have to do with private messages?

can I make my default font comic sans? (just to annoy sweets)

also one good thing is when you hit the little button on the right to go in the topic…it does take you right to the latest post and auto scrolls the header out…but every time you go back…you get 3/4 of your page is the header and the sticky posts ;(

edit…100% of the screen is the header and sticky posts….annoying…please shrink header if possible…only change that I think needs to be made

when the previous dinosaur site is actually better than the upgrade, you know things went wrong somewhere. #thanksjulian

This is the most important takeaway. When do we get a 930 forum app?
Agreed that default font size is too small

I take back everything I said: the new forum is amazing.

yes…that by far is my biggest feature request, doesn't even seem like that would be that hard to do (from the one with no app building experience)
but don't just do a iphoney one

also found this in the documentation
Buddies/Ignore List

Inevitably, there will be times when members get along great and times when personalities clash. SMF provides a way to handle both instances. The buddy list allows members to keep track of users they enjoy talking to, while the ignore list hides users they do not want to see.

so Julie…are all hutches posts now no longer in your feed
be careful what you wish for…as people may start ignoring you too
