I agree about the new LCD….it didn't work for me.  They were still great at the Anthem, though.

Agreed. Huge disappointment, but still so so good live.

I find it hard to believe that you like Kelly Lee Owens :)  great album.  Saw her live too in California.

After listening to this album back to back with the new Charlotte Gainsbourg, it's possibly I might swap those two, hence dropping KLO. Then again, maybe not.
Only 4 new albums that I bought this year I think:

EMA - Exile in the Outer Ring
Torres - Three Futures
Hope - Hope
Algiers - The Underside of Power
Oh yah add the NMA one…
Neutral Milk AirBnB?

There's an Auschwitz-rebranding joke somewhere in there, but I won't be the one to make it.
Fever Ray was the biggest disappointment for me this year. I was so psyched for that thing, and it just does nothing for me.
NMA are the North Mississippi Allstars..Jim Dickinson's boys…just a great record…same as the last one with a bit more of a Grateful Dead vibe…Luther is such a great guitar player…maybe the best slide player going…I still think World Boogie is their master work but this one is close…for a long time I felt their records did not measure up to their live shows but no longer…if you like RL Burnside and that type of blues give them a shake..
