Bands That You Like, and that Your Spouse/Partner/Polycule Hates

Ferry was indeed a very good show. Wife was surprised to "find out" that I listen to music like that. Only seems to remember the stuff she hates  ::)

My Girlfriend hated seeing the following shows:

The Dream Syndicate
Mark Eitzel
Mitski

Mitski with all the choreography, or Mitski w/ guitars?  :o :o :o
Great topic! I think we're covered it years ago, but always good to do an updated version.

My wife hates anything punk, except for Green Day and My Chemical Romance. I can't say I like all punk, but I fail to see how someone can dislike the Ramones.

She also hates most of the twangy country or bluegrass stuff I like, with a particular dislike for Lucinda Williams and Steve Earle.

P.S. I know My Chemical Romance is not punk.

i suspect i said this same thing back then: the missus still gives me grief about dragging her to Sigur Rós, or, as she calls them, "the whale singers."

Glad to share the Polycule which was new for me today as well.

I had forgotten the old thread. Sorry if it brings back bad memories.
pretty much any rock show that is standing and is loud and packed
also have to be upfront (vertically challenged)

hence the 3rd row for Nick Cave w/ piano

a decade or so ago, would bring to many alt-country/indie rock/EDM shows…not any more
My wife hates anything remotely abrasive but she is a pretty good sport, for the most part.

Her Top 3 Least Favorite Shows:

Killing Joke (old 930…she still talks about that one)
Rage Against the Machine/Wu Tang (Merriweather)
Mars Volta (Rams Head)

My first 9:30 show…like 91?
Honestly remember almost nothing other than they played little of what I actually knew
did buy a shirt with some nazi skull thing
This is a great topic. I want to do it credit and do a longform piece around this. Hang tight.

I989. Before Extremeties came out.

Everything was fine until they played "Change" and the crowd went nuts. She spent the rest of the evening at the back bar.
ween.

my man, never ever ever, has understood how I can listen to that band.
I always love threads like this one because threads like this one totally support the old adage that "there's someone for everyone."
I like Phish and the Grateful Dead and Tori Amos.

I do not like US Maple.

Pretty much everything else is agreed upon…
