Sorry, reading this board tends to make me think that perhaps 80% of all shows are outstanding.
yeah, 80% of the shows we go to are outstanding, because we purposefully avoid the shit you listen to.

I guess I just dont like that such a great band cant get the recognition they deserve when bands like oar and mudvayne are selling out the 930.
It's the recurring question, especially around these parts.

Why does Sloan open for Jet (and not sell out the Black Cat on their own), why do The Wrens play the Black Cat and frickin' Fiery Furnaces the 9:30 Club? None of it 'makes sense,' unless you consider that the bands you think ROCK THE HOUSE may not do so for everyone (or don't have the hype machine working at full throttle).
I guess the hype on the trail of dead has dies down after all these years eh? Did they sell out the Black Cat when source tags and codes first came out?
So yeah… Trail of Dead were good, but not great. Great performers, great musicians, but Conrad's voice was absolutely shot early in the set, Jason's wasn't much better.

I don't think they've been on tour all that long, either… I feel sorry for their audiences towards the end of May.

Also:
- Sizeable contingent of the fratboy set.
- The Sword: Rocked. Tastes sorta like Mastodon, but more rawk than virtuoso. They were frickin' great, I bought the 3-song EP, so did quite a few other people.
-Octopus Project: Hmm. Theremin + drum machines + Fender Mustangs + synths + no vocals = Not sure what I think about it. But I'm in love with the keyboard/theremin player.

Yeah, I didn't make it. Got to the door with a ticket, fiance didn't have one, and it was sold out. Sort of glad to hear it wasn't so hot.

Wish I'd have known it was sold out. I had two extras. It was worth $14 + s/c, not much more.
anybody remember a setlist? i was happy they played lune de claire, and yea there were a bit too many fratboys who absolutely loved jumping on stage at the end…..they played totally natural.
Figures. Oh well.
