the real shame is Clare Torry got paid only £30 for that incredible and unforgettable vocal performance
at least in 2005 the band settled with Clare and she now gets royalties from 2005 on

I am glad Clare Torry sued and got paid but I don’t think the band did anything wrong… they asked her to step in a booth and wail away…she was hired as a typical backing vocalist .she ended up getting into it -going with it as the band asked her to do- and coming up with something original and it ended up becoming the song but am sure it didn’t occur to anyone at the time that she should get a co-write credit!! As I remember reading she came out of the booth and was very embarrassed and apologetic and the band told her it was great
