Plans to spend your third socialist check?

I would love for them to get the vaccine program in high gear, so i can go on a (domestic) summer vacation, and spend my socialist check. Or, make life safe enough so i can have workers in my house to do some home improvements. Otherwise, we'll just bank it for later….
Is there a way to tell people they get the check if they show proof of vaccine or is that beyond the pale?

I guess that would delay check but I would love to see government pay people $1000 per vaccination
looks like smakie might get to double-dip on this one
CA Gov. Gavin Newsom: "We're proposing a Golden State stimulus to basically make those $600 checks that people are starting to receive from the federal government, get them to be $1200. We want to roughly get 4 million checks out within three weeks of me signing this package.”

Really, you think so?

"The Golden State Stimulus would refund $600 to all 2019 taxpayers who received a California Earned Income Tax Credit (CalEITC) in 2020. Californians with annual incomes of $30,000 or less may be eligible for the CalEITC."

…didn't know it was means tested

Unlike say, Julian, I'm not insulted that you thought I qualified for the Federal Stimulus check, but that insinuation was borderline defamation.

I mean you do own a home in the heart of SF…so one should be able to put two and too together
Side hatch knows I'm way too wealthy, but if I did qualify, a large helping of Ambien.
If you only got a partial amount in round 2, they'll make up the difference with a credit when you file your 2020 taxes.

This applies to me, but I'm also not the smartest guy. Can you explain what this means to me? Will I also get a partial third check, or a full one.

For example:

So you are saying that if we got $1000 in round two, and we are three people ($1800), we'd get $800 tax credit? Does that mean I will have to pay $800 less in taxes, or does it mean my taxable income gets adjusted down by $800?

You'll owe $800 less in taxes or you'll get $800 more in a refund, depending on which situation you're in.
although, the person with 10kids and less than 150k in income might deserve an award
I do think you are not calculating the child tax credit, which I think is going from 2k to 3K per kid…

I just don't know how people can have more than 2-4 kids
I guess if you lived with aunts, uncles, and grandparents…maybe that's doable

I'm not sure what you mean by child tax credit in reference to plugging you adjusted gross and number of dependents into that calculator.

The most kids of anyone I know from our generation having is four. And they're divorced and he pays for it all (she doesn't work in spite of having an Ivy law degree.)
I meant that likely that person who makes $160 and has 10 kids will likely get $30k in tax credits, so they won't be getting as screwed as you think
but there have to be lines drawn and we can always find a few people on the wrong side of the line
and they get the sad trombone

So a couple with 10 kids gets $16,800 if their adjusted gross income is 150K but gets nothing if their adjusted gross income in 160K. That doesn't seem right.
This is the outlier of all outliers.
You can count on Space to find the outlier of all outliers

Ok, well more realistically…a couple with four kids would get a stimulus check of $8400 if they adjusted grossed 150K. They would get $0 if they adjusted grossed 160K.
