2013 Bayou Doc on WHUT tomorrow

Just a heads up, a 2013 documentary on Georgetown's The Bayou is on WHUT locally tomorrow night (Sat, July 31) - set your DVRs (yes, I still do that) on at 8:00 PM and again at midnight. I have no idea if the doc has been available for streaming all this time….

Not sure who was around for the Bayou, but I saw several great shows there. Though the CityPaper review from 2013 indicates the film barely covers the '90s (I moved here in 1990).

I think I saw exactly one show at the Bayou. Whiskeytown with Fastball and an unmemorable third band. Good times!
My friend worked there towards the end

I got backstage once

Saw a show with the Smithereens too

It always felt a bit like being in a cage

The end

7,000
I unfortunately lost my DVR when I downgraded my Verizon package.
I saw the Spin Doctors there and wound up with a drumstick.
Also, Little Feat.

YouTubeTV includes DVR-in-the-cloud, but I think it only saves for like 6 months.
I Saw
The Replacements there
and
Big Audio Dynamite.
Concert list: https://www.setlist.fm/venue/the-bayou-washington-dc-usa-3bd7705c.html

I saw these bands: Smithereens mulitple times (State Theater took over that role), Guster, Too Much Joy a couple times, Hoodoo Gurus, Joe Jackson, Big Country, and a band Flop opened for someone and I was into them for a while.

SOUNDGARDEN was there 2 weeks before I moved to DC in Jan 1990. DAMN.

Wow… that's awesome.
Pretty sure it was the Bayou where The Smithereens did a unannounced “Especially For You” entire album show.  One of the best shows I’ve ever seen and years before doing album shows came into vogue. Also, Too Much Joy but not the one that prompted a visit from the Secret Service though

1987? Best Mats show I ever saw. A personal top 10.

Saw Type O Negative there. Saw local band The Factory.  Was also there the night Mayor Barry got busted for smoking crack. That was for  Soundgarden and Faith No More.

Wow! Soundgarden and Faith No More on same night in a club? What do you remember about show?
They were opening for VoiVod. Great sets by both. Well before either of them blew up.
