First time at Wolf Trap for B&S, any suggestions?

What was attendance?

Ok that makes sense. I can imagine Stevie.

How long a “snippet “ was it…. On set list like three songs are listed as snippets

Dunno. Corners of the seats were empty. Lawn was pretty full. Not sure about the upper level.
So 3000-4000 maybe

Not bad

A lot better than the Anthem show a few years ago.

I've seen 'em half a dozen times and that Anthem show was by far the worst. That's saying something considering I was also at the echostage show!

Wolf Trap is a really nice venue, too bad it's out in BFE. What's the deal with the lame alcohol rules in the seats? They don't want spilled booze to ruin the plastic seats and concrete flooring? Makes zero sense. But thanks to the beer guy for not opening my beer and allowing me to sneak it into the seats.

You can take anything to the seats as long as it's in one of their sippy cups. Same cups you get at the KenCen.
Tonight:

6:30 PM House opens

7:00 PM Performance: Waxahatchee

7:45 PM Intermission

8:05 PM Performance: Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit

9:20 PM Intermission

9:40 PM Performance: Sheryl Crow

10:55 PM End of Show

Yeah that Anthem show kinda sucked. Worst setlist I’ve ever seen them play for sure.

So appears this is more of a double bill with both headliners getting the same set time
seems like the Patriarchy is to blame

I know, but the cup costs $6. Lame.

I can understand being more controlling with drinks at the Ken Cen. But Wolf Trap needs to get real.
You never could take drinks to the seats before, and it sucked.  Now they let you, which is cool, but they charge 6 whole dollars.  Other venues charge, 11 to 20 dollars for a single drink to bring to your seat.  And you are bitching?

I assume you could buy one cup and use it gor many years to come?

Im at the show tonight. $97 ticket for $39, with fees included. I should have driven to the parking lot and gotten a ticket. Seats were down to $18 with fees included.
Sukie in the Graveyard, I'm a Cuckoo, and Another Sunny Day are pretty much overdone…they just irritate me now.

This is like going to a Tori Amos show….you either will have an amazing setlist, or a boring one.

I'd say this setlist is a 6/7.  They could've done more from the new one!

Hard to top the show I saw at Union Transfer in 2019:

Good setlist. Sad they didn't play any Write About Love songs while playing four songs from the Life Pursuit. Good album, but not worth playing at the expense of other albums.

Piazza NY Catcher is better when it's just Stuart singing with guitar playing. The song is supposed to represent loneliness, which is better represented without the full band playing it.

Was great to hear deep cuts A Summer Wasting and Song for Sunshine. If She Wants Me may be the most underrated B&S deep cut. Such a great track.

Vas brings the hammer down.

Yes, it's pretty stupid to force patrons to pay an extra $6 to bring their drinks to their seats. There's no legitimate defense of this lame policy, so stuff it.

Even worse that you could BYOB and get blotto drunk on the lawn but heaven forbid anyone bring drinks to their seats.
It’s de facto corkage. You can open a bottle of wine in a park for free. You gotta pay $50 to open one in a nice restaurant. It’s a regressive tax on the Julian class that can afford seats away from the grass-stained swine.
Can someone break down the gas costs + refillable cup + discounted ticket to confirm if $pace got a good deal tonight?
I just want to know 1) who bought refillable Wolftrap cup 2) picture of cup
