Putting the Ass back in Asheville

Ok, we now have a dedicated thread for all posts about Asheville, since 1/3 of our board is spending a considerable amount of time there

yes, it probably made more sense to say 'putting the Ash back in Asheville' but where is the fun in that

this may be the only post in this thread…or maybe it will become our most popular
Girl, I'm in town; there is all the ass, this area needs!  Plus, there is a gay bar right down from our hotel!

Gurrrrl.
I'm in Merano. Can that have it's own thread too? Yesterday I did a 9+ mile solo hike, summiting two Dolomite peaks in the Val Gardena. Today, we had lunch at Knodelgluck. Or was it Gnodelgluck? Then we went to the thermal baths this afternoon. Tomorrow I drag the whole family on a hike, likely a 7 miler. They'll be hating me. At least there's lots of rifugio stops along the way A pint of hefe high on the mountain sure taste good.

Asheville is nice too. But my wife doesn't want to vacation in any state weed isn't legal. I can't believe she agreed to come to Europe.

Ciao
Bless, your wife. She's fighting, the good fight.
so how is this town RE: music venues/acts coming to town

Just don't see it listed on a lot of national tours but was never really looking
Tell me someone ate at Biscuit Head this morning.

ashville is a nobody when it comes to The Big Acts.  you're not going to catch dua lipa or springsteen there.

but for mid-level, black cat/930 types acts?  they all stop in ashville.

so i guess it depends on what types of tours you're into.

Man… space beat me to making a joke.

Well played Space.

Rabbit Rabbit and Salvage Station have expanded Ashevilles ability to get The Anthem size shows somewhat, but yes, Springsteen isn’t coming to the basketball arena.

Yeah not looking like it's anytime soon either
https://www.marijuanamoment.net/north-carolina-house-republicans-block-senate-passed-medical-marijuana-bill/

you would think with these numbers they'd pass something
A recent poll from the Carolina Partnership for Reform found that 82 percent of North Carolina voters are in favor of legalizing medical cannabis—including 75 percent of Republicans, 87 percent of unaffiliated voters and 86 percent of Democrats.

A separate question found that 60 percent of voters back adult-use legalization.
Politicians doing things the people want.

OH THAT'S A FUCKING GOOD ONE. GO PAT YOURSELF ON THE BACK FOR THAT ONE!
I saw a bunch of dispensaries in and around Asheville and assumed it was pretty much legal.
there are a LOT of stinky hippies down there, so just follow your nose

but you appear to be correct

not really sure how that works…looks like mostly CBD and Delta 8
but also looks like they got real stuff
Methinks there is very lax enforcement in the Asheville area

https://avltoday.6amcity.com/delta-8-asheville-nc/
I saw college age kids going in to a dispensary

I think in Asheville and even a place we went to 20 minutes away- it’s pretty much legal

So everyone can quit bellyaching…I mean find something else insignificant to complain about..

Weird, can't find stats from the last year or two
latest data is from 2016….
https://norml.org/marijuana/library/state-marijuana-arrests/north-carolina-marijuana-arrests/

but 15k people were arrested on some weed charge in 2016 in NC
so need more recent data…as a lot has changed in 6 years

https://norml.org/laws/north-carolina-penalties-2/
it is lightly- decriminalized
definitely no Adult rec use
and no medical
but you will do time if you have 2 oz in your possession

I think the people and shops you see are CBD (won't get you hight) and Delta -8 …which is very similar to TCH and in a legal grey area in a lot of states

this is weird…Paraphernalia - To a minor who is at least 3 years younger
So if your toddler gets a hold of your bong and the cops walk in…you could be doing 8 months in the clink

Dear God.  Wow, Bob, wow.

That hotel is so great. We stayed there a few times when we were scoping the area. The bathtubs are swimming pools.
This is where I'm seeing Billy Strings play in October. It is a Harrah's Cherokee venue:

ExploreAsheville.com Arena is Asheville’s ideal venue for large concerts, sports, conventions and expos.
The ExploreAsheville.com Arena is Western North Carolina’s largest arena, with the seating capacity of up to 7,200 (standing room). The ExploreAsheville.com Arena consists of 29,532 square feet on the arena floor with an additional 12,670 sq. ft of concourse space.
The area around the venue, is great.  One thing, about Assville.  You betta, walk.
