the site is still updated, but last contest was years ago

late 00's/early 10's I used to crush the GW radio station giveaways via FB.

The link problem may be Union Stage's problem, not Sidehatch's. The link in the email I got this year doesn't work.

I wish Sweetcell would send some of his social media karma…I remember he won a free trip to Brussels through a Facebook contest.

I too remember winning tix on a semi-regular basis. I used to be a regular City Paper reader and noticed when the revamped their website at some point that they got rid of the page for entries. I feel like the lack of such giveaways also plays into other recent convos on here re: local music and music scenes more broadly. There's a lack of systemic infrastructure, which was eventually boiled down to putting the onus entirely on "the people" and social media.

I definitely used to win through City Paper… A big one was the GW radio station in the late 2000's. They had a facebook page that had probably 50 followers and was always giving tickets away on there.

College radio really served many great purposes when I was a young one. I won *so* many great concert tickets.

I got a bunch of free tix from The Vinyl district, but that dried up
