I just can't be refreshing a website every five minutes, basically for a whole week (they sent an email out Monday saying, "watch the website, sometime this week souvenir tickets will go on sale." I had a group of about 6 watching, and the first person saw that the sale had occured a couple hours after the fact. Oh well, I'll consider that between last year and this year, I'm paying $115 each…
Originally posted by xneverwherex:they didn't send an e-mail this year. you had to refresh the site and find the hidden icon, which occured at 10:29. apparently there was only 2000 presale tickets, vs. last year's 3000 - i don't like that trend, i'm afraid they're phasing them out.
im so mad! WTF I didnt get any email :(

"Lollapalooza 2008 headliners confirmed
Lollapalooza's Austin, Texas-based promoters C3 Presents are not scheduled to make their official announcement of the acts performing at this year's weekend-long music festival in Grant Park until Monday, but the Sun-Times has confirmed through industry sources all of the major artists.
Art-rock giants Radiohead and Nine Inch Nails, the reunited Rage Against the Machine, Jack White's side project the Raconteurs and hometown heroes Wilco and Kanye West will headline the main stages on Aug. 1-3.
The Raconteurs, Wilco and West will each be making their second appearance at the reinvented destination festival. Other repeaters among the more than 100 acts on this year's bill are Gnarls Barkley, the Black Keys, Broken Social Scene, G. Love & Special Sauce, Blues Traveler and Mates of State.
Quite a few of the other acts – including many of the most promising – have earlier performed at Chicago's two independently produced music festivals, Pitchfork and Intonation. These include Bloc Party, Cat Power, Stephen Malkmus, Girl Talk, Kid Sister, Office, the Cool Kids, Battles, the Go! Team, Jamie Lidell and Grizzly Bear.
Advance three-day passes are now on sale for a limited time for $190 (after which the price increases to $205)"
Radiohead, NIN, RATM, Racontours, Wilco, and Kanye West!
this looks to be the best fest out there by far

good line-up, should be a ton of fun again.
i'm only lukewarm to the addition of RATM. i'm a huge fan but i've seen them twice already in the past year… they need to release something new, i can't say i'm incredibly excited to see practically the same set again. it's going to be fun, tho, rage always is.
will be interesting to compare wilco and the raconteurs' performances on a big stage, vs. having seen them at the club. and like at VFest, kanye needs to be stuck on a small side-stage if only to get him to rant :p

That lineup is SOLID. I love V-Fest, and have faith Seth can match it. But he certainly has his work cut out for him…
Wow. That looks terrific. Too many to mention -except that I'll finally get to see K'Naan!
Dierks Bentley?
official line-up now out - http://www.lollapalooza.com/
no louis XVI, and a bunch of local bands added, but the leaked line-up was 99% correct.
